Heritage Sports Masters Golf Tournament. Is Rory Ready?
Rory McIlroy, 7/1 with Heritage Sports to win the Masters this year, is ready to embrace the challenge of gunning for glory at Augusta next week. The Northern Irishman dominated the tournament in 2011, only to fall apart on the final day, recording an 80 to end a massive ten shots back from eventual winner Charl Schwartzel. However, McIlroy is eager to final get his hands on a Green Jacket, having already won the US Open and the USPGA Championship. He told reporters: “I know I’ve played good enough golf here to win it at times, it’s just a matter of stringing it all together in one week. “It’s a frustrating golf course at times. It’s just the way Augusta is and I think you have to embrace it and accept that’s what it’s going to be like sometimes. “The margins are so small and if you just go on the wrong side it can punish you very harshly.”
